Dr Beckett kindly agreed to answer some commonly asked questions about trying to conceive and going through fertility treatment.
She talks through how couples can increase their chances of success, how age and PCOS affect fertility, how long to wait after a failed cycle and her views on add on treatments.
Dr Beckett is the clinical lead for Orbit Fertility and at Bradford Royal infirmary. I run a bi-monthly support group for her patients, which you can find out more about on the 'Support group' page of this site.
Dr Beckett is an Obstetrician & Gynaecologist at one of the busiest maternity units in the UK, in Bradford, West Yorkshire. She is Clinical Lead for Reproductive Medicine and has a special interest in Maternal Medicine. Dr Beckett's undergraduate training was at University College London where she also acquired a first class honours degree in Physiology.
Dr Beckett was appointed to her consultant post in 2013. She runs a busy satellite IVF unit & has a broad interest in Reproductive Medicine. Since her appointment she has focused on the care of Neurological patients in pregnancy, including those with epilepsy, as well as women with HIV in pregnancy, as well as other high-risk pregnancies.
